Last night I saw Larry Crowne with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts at the KCET Cinema Series. I wasn't sure about this movie going in, but coming out I was convinced. It is great. Very heart warming and fun. I do enjoy a good romantic comedy and with Nia Vardalos writing what else would it be.
It opens Friday so get out there and enjoy. Also, you get to see quite a bit of Tom Hanks without his pants...
Paul Frank is having a great party at The Pacific Design Center tonight. Bring the kid, the dog, whoever you like. This looks like a good time and I'll be there with our Behemoth George for the Puppy Prom.
Here's a great MomsLA video from the event!
For more info check out the Paul Frank Facebook Page The party is traveling around the country so check for a city near you.
Hope to see some of you there!
Here's a fun pick of me, my daughter, our dog, and my husband's foot at the party.
This really was a great event. Here's the list of cities they'll visit over the summer. Hope it's coming to a town near.

I went to a press preview of Cirque Du Soleil's IRIS at The Kodak Theatre in the heart of Hollywood, last week. As always, Cirque did not disappoint. There were spectacular acrobats, visually stunning sets and costumes, and suprising feats!
The show is a journey through the world of cinema. Preview performances start July 21st and the show premieres on September 25.
I was invited to a pool party at The Hyatt in Huntington Beach a week or so ago and I gotta tell you it was amazing. Particularly, if you have kids. They have a great kids pool area that has a 1 foot deep pool for the little ones, 4foot pool for the swimmers, and 3 water slides for everyone. My daughter loved it and I was able to relax knowing that she was safe because there were a multitude of life guards. In the past I have gone down to Palm Springs for pool vacations, but in the summer it's just too hot. I can guarentee you I will be returning to the Hyatt Huntington Beach this summer on my own dime.

I'll be seeing it here in Culver City if you care to join me.
Here's the press release:
Screenvision brings the New York Philharmonic's presentation of Stephen Sondheim's Company to movie theatres across the nation.
Neil Patrick Harris leads a star-studded cast which includes Patti LuPone, Stephen Colbert, Jon Cryer, Christina Hendricks, Craig Bierko and Martha Plimpton.
Company's plot revolves around Bobby (a single man unable to commit fully to a steady relationship, let alone marriage), the five married couples who are his best friends, and his three girlfriends. It's a concept musical composed of short vignettes, presented in no particular chronological order, linked by a celebration for Bobby's 35th birthday.
The original Company on Broadway in 1970 was nominated for 14 Tonys ®, winning Best Musical, Book for Musical, Original Score, Lyrics, Set Design and Direction of a Musical.
The other night I got a Mad Men Season 5 Amuse Bouche. That's right the LA Times' Envelope series hosted a screening of Beautiful Girls from Mad Men Season 4 and a Q&A with series creator Matt Weiner, and cast member Jon Hamm, Christina Hendricks, and Kiernan Shipka. It was amazing and I even got to ask a question. What you ask: I asked if we would get to learn more about Joan in the coming season. To be truthful with the eyes of Matt Weiner and company on me I could barely string together a sentence, much less understand their answer. But here's what I think happened.
I asked the question and Matt Weiner said "why do you have to know?" at which point I started babbling about all the medical stuff and coughing, to which he said "you mean with the lawn mower" and then I said "yeah and the ant farm". Which was the point I realized knowing every time a character has coughed on a show was a little weird. So I said so. Then Christina jumped in to say that the coughing was in the script and she wondered why she was coughing and no one else was. I think it was at that point that I blacked out. I do remeber John Hamm looking at me like he was William Shattner and I had just approached him on a city street dressed as a Clingon.
What I took from this is that there is something to my medical theories about Joan but Matt Weiner would prefer to let it unfold in his own time. So, I'll try to control myself going forward. The last thing I want to do is anger the god of my Mad Men world. So please Mr. Weiner take your time, I will be here waiting when you are ready to show it. (really there is no saracasm in that statement, no really)
